Fix your "crank no start" condition. This is the direct replacement fuel stop solenoid for the Kubota V2203 diesel engine — the most common engine in Bobcat skid steers, Kubota tractors, Carrier reefer units, and Genie/JLG lifts. 12V, 3-wire design with rubber boot. Replaces Bobcat 6681513 / 6667992 and Kubota 1C010-60015 / 1G925-60011 / 1A021-60017.
Your engine cranks but won't start — or it starts only if you manually hold the fuel lever open. This is the classic symptom of a failed fuel shutoff solenoid. Here's what happens: inside this solenoid is a "pull" coil that yanks the fuel lever open when you turn the key. When the pull coil burns out (which it will — it handles massive inrush current every time you start the engine), the lever stays in the "off" position and the engine gets no fuel.
You might be able to start the engine by manually pulling the lever or jamming a zip-tie to hold it open — but that's a temporary fix and a safety hazard (the engine won't shut off when you turn the key, because the solenoid can't push the fuel lever back to "off").
Direct replacement 12V fuel shutoff solenoid with heavy-duty pull and hold coils. Designed for the high-heat environment of the engine bay. Silver cylinder body with black rubber boot and 3-wire connector — drops directly onto the Kubota V2203 injection pump. No modifications, no adapters.
This solenoid has 3 wires with specific jobs. Connecting them incorrectly will burn out the solenoid immediately.
⚠️ If the PULL wire stays energized after the engine starts (due to a wiring fault or stuck relay), the pull coil will overheat and burn out within minutes. This is the #1 reason people burn through solenoids. If your new solenoid fails quickly, check for a wiring issue — the pull circuit should de-energize once the engine is running and the hold circuit takes over.
This solenoid fits any equipment with the following Kubota engines and matching OEM part numbers:
⚠️ The Kubota V2203 engine is used in hundreds of different machines. If your machine has a V2203 and the solenoid matches the physical description above (silver body, rubber boot, 3-wire), this is most likely the correct part. Contact us with your model and serial number if you're unsure.
My engine starts if I manually hold the fuel lever — is this the solenoid?
Yes. That's the classic symptom. The pull coil inside the solenoid has burned out, so it can't pull the fuel lever open electrically. Manually holding the lever proves the engine is fine — the fuel system just can't open the lever on its own. Replace the solenoid.
I replaced the solenoid and it burned out again within a week — why?
The "pull" wire (white) is staying energized after the engine starts. The pull coil is only designed for a few seconds of high-current draw during cranking. If a wiring fault, stuck relay, or faulty ignition switch keeps the pull circuit live while the engine runs, the coil overheats and burns out. Check the pull circuit relay and the ignition switch wiring.
Is this the same solenoid for the fuel shutoff AND the traction lock?
No. The fuel shutoff solenoid (this listing — 6681513) mounts on the injection pump and controls fuel flow. The traction lock solenoid (6681512) is a separate part that controls the parking brake. They look similar but are not interchangeable. Make sure you're ordering the correct one.
Will this fit a Carrier reefer unit?
If your Carrier Transicold reefer uses a Kubota V2203 engine and the existing solenoid matches the physical description (silver body, rubber boot, 3-wire, mounted on the injection pump), then yes. Verify the Kubota part number (1C010-60015 or similar) in your Carrier service manual.
What does each wire do?
Red = HOLD (low amps, keeps the lever open while the engine runs). White = PULL (high amps, yanks the lever open during cranking — only stays on for a few seconds). Black = GROUND (chassis ground). If you swap Red and White, the pull coil will stay energized and burn out.
